Monipuri Village

East of the Shah Jalal Bridge is a pleasant village inhabited mainly by people of the Monipuri tribe. Their houses are decorated with carved awnings, and there are several small Hindu shrines nearby. Many of the friendly locals wear traditional costume, and you can purchase handicrafts from them, though there is no pressure put upon you to do so.
