Browser
This website is designed to work with a wide range of current browsers
and will work best with Internet Explorer version 4.0 or above or
Netscape version 4 and above. If you are using certain other browsers,
you may not be able to use the dynamic menus at the top of the page.
If so, you can navigate the site through the links at the foot of
the page or through the site map. This is accessible by selecting
the site map icon. You may click any of the primary menu headings
to gain access to other pages as well.
Hardware
Any PC or Macintosh hardware should support this website, although
it will run better with a faster computer.
Similarly, this website will load more quickly with a fast modem
or other internet connection. However, it is designed so that nearly
all pages will load within 10 seconds over a 56k connection.
Sound
To listen to our sound clips you will need the RealPlayer plug-in.
We recommend that Windows users install the free version of RealOne
Player (it is not necessary to purchase the 'premium' version).
To download this please go to http://www.real.com/player/
and click the 'Free RealOne Player' link located in the grey
bar running across the centre of the page.
RealOne Player runs under Windows 98/ ME/ 2000/ NT 4/ XP.
Older versions of RealPlayer which can operate on Mac, UNIX, Linux
and other Windows operating systems may be downloaded from: http://service.real.com/downloads.html.
Sounds on this site should play on any version of RealPlayer. The
quality of the sounds will vary depending on the connection speed
to the internet. Although a 28k modem will play, a 56k modem or
faster connection is recommended. Please note that the quality of
the sounds on our website does not necessarily reflect the quality
of the original recordings in the collections.
